No one wants to have mice in their home or places of work. They are more than just annoying; they can pose health problems and cause damage to your home. The best way to prevent mouse control issues is to prevent mice from wanting to and be able to enter your home or office. Below are some tips to help prevent mouse control issues.

  • Remove the reason – If you remove the reason mice want to invade your home or office then you can most likely prevent them from entering. Try to keep your yard and home free of trash and water. These are both food sources for them and will attract them to your property.  Make sure to have a lid on top of all of your trashcans.
  • Remove hiding spots – Remove debris, construction materials, wood piles and any other objects around the exterior of your home that can harbor mice trying to hide and gain access to your home.

  • Vegetation – Mice love overgrown vegetation. Keeping your yard trimmed will help keep mice out of your yard and home.
  • Strong perimeter – Make sure that the perimeter walls of your home are free of any entry points for mice or rates. Mice can fit through a hole the size of a dime and rats the size of a quarter. If the hole isn’t large enough, they can use their sharp teeth to make it bigger. Walk the perimeter of your home to inspect it and ensure that there aren’t any easy access points.
